Michelle Solino, LPC, NCC, has been practicing individual and group counseling in the tri-state area for over 9 years. She has years of field experience in individual, group, and family therapy sessions, along with crisis intervention and complete biopsychosocial assessments.
Before joining a private practice, Michelle was a leading member of the Overlook Medical Center Eating Disorder Program and a volunteer for the Morristown Memorial Health Foundation. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and a graduate of Monmouth University with a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling.
Michelle worked as part of an interdisciplinary team at Overlook Hospital to develop customized treatment plans for patients with dual diagnoses, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, aggression, and self-harming behaviors. As a Junior Olympic gold medalist in Tae Kwon Do, Michelle observed the pressures of perfectionism and body image among her peers within the elite athletic community. Although Michelle continues to work with patients from all walks of life, her experiences in elite athletic competition inspired her to pursue a specialty in eating disorder treatment among athletes.
She trained in family-based therapy (FBT) (also known as Maudsley Approach), a highly specialized certification for therapists who work with eating disorder patients which boasts one of the highest rates of recovery in the field.
